Puri, Odisha: Begins 139th Rath Yatra Celebrating Lord Jagannath


Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday wished the country on the event of Rath Yatra.

“On the occasion of Rath Yatra, my warmest greetings to you all. May Lord Jagannath continue to shower his blessings on everyone,” he tweeted.

“May the blessings of Lord Jagannath lead to the development of villages, the well-being of poor & farmers and take India to new heights of progress,” he added.

Ahmedabad city saw a human tidal wave on its boulevards as parcels joined the 139th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath at the favorable day of Ashadi Beej on Wednesday. The Yatra, which is second least complex to Jagannath Puri in Odisha, closed with none untoward episode.

While the parade, which initiated from the four hundred-12 months antique Lord Jagannath Temple in the city, secured chariots of the symbols of Lord Jagannath (Krishna), his senior sibling BalBhadra and sister Subhadra other than the showcase of vitality by a method for gymnasts, coasts on the vans and elephants.
