US rapper Kanye West has been reportedly hospitalized taking after an emergency services call, media reports say. A police representative told the BBC they had gotten a disturbance call on Monday evening, however, did not name the artist.
A fire division representative said: “At 1.20pm the Los Angeles Fire Department reacted to an unspecified medical aid ask for in the 900 square of North Laurel Avenue. An adult male described as medically stable was taken to an area hospital for assessment”.
TMZ the Gossip site said that West was taken to hospital for “psychiatric evaluation” and had been looking for treatment for extreme lack of sleep.
West’s hospitalization was initially reported by NBC News said officers had been reacting to a medical welfare call and the choice to hospitalize West was for his own health and security, referring to multiple authorities familiar with the case.
The Los Angeles Times reported that there had been a 911 call from the address, referring to a fire department source.
On Saturday, West finished a show after just four songs in Sacramento, California, before crossing out an execution in Los Angeles a day later, hours before he was expected in front of an audience.
West raved around a few friends including Jay Z, Beyoncé and Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg.
